NEW Nightclub Opening: AQUA at Danfords Hotel & Marina

AQUA made its original debut in January 2004 and closed in 2007 to undergo a dramatic restoration as part of the main ballroom of Danfords Hotel & Marina. "Over the years, we received numerous requests to bring AQUA back," stated Stewart Weiner, General Manager. "Since we aim to satisfy the demand of our loyal customers, we are now filling a niche in the market that only we can do due to our exclusive resource - Port Jefferson's waterfront."

The name, AQUA, plays off the panoramic views of Port Jefferson Harbor seen from both levels of the stylish, yet relaxed dance lounge. The first floor incorporates the casually sophisticated, all-white WAVE Lounge (of WAVE Restaurant & Lounge) where amber lighting complements brick facade and features brown and teal accents, a white lacquered baby grand piano and a gallery of photographic seascapes. The high-energy dance club, located in the Brookhaven Ballroom on the second level, overlooks Port Jefferson Harbor and boasts a large dance floor and bar. Tables may be reserved in the VIP Lounge, a roped off area adjacent to the dance floor, offering bottle service with stylish ottomans and illuminated white cocktail tables.

The two levels are united via a sound system delivering a relaxing atmosphere in the lounge with the energy of a modern dance club on the second floor. Jenny Costa of KTU 103.5, New York's popular radio station, is the resident DJ spinning primarily top 40 dance music with hip hop and R&B favorites.

AQUA also adds a food component to the nightclub concept. A custom-designed tapas menu inspired by WAVE Restaurant & Lounge's eclectic New American menu is offered in the lounge from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Signature tapas include: pit fired pulled pork flight; parmesan dusted steak frites and truffle oil drizzle; cheese fondue; and tuna and chick pea tartare.

The dedicated cocktail collection is available all-night long and features signature drinks for $11 including the "Tidal WAVE" with Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Coco Lopez and pineapple juice.

AQUA creates a perfect environment for birthday celebrations and other special events. Parties may start with an intimate dinner at WAVE Restaurant & Lounge, followed by dancing and drinks at AQUA, and topped off with a restful sleep in one of Danford's luxurious guest rooms or VIP suites. Catering to bachelorettes specifically, "Spend Your Last Night of Freedom With Us Package" offers free admission for the entire group, complimentary bottle of champagne and commemorative group photo. For overnighters, "AQUA A-List Package" includes overnight accommodations on Friday night, admission for two, and one complimentary drink coupon per person for $119 plus tax per room.

AQUA will be open every Friday night from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Admission is complimentary for Danfords Hotel & Marina guests and WAVE Restaurant & Lounge guests. There is a $10 admission fee for non-guests. Guests must have proper identification. Ladies must be 21-years-old and men must be 25-years-old.
