If You Attended the Sold Out North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ & Wine Festival

North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ & Wine Festival took place on Saturday, August 14.

People from all walks of life were in attendance at this sold out event that took place at Martha Clara Vineyards.

The event showcased 50 of the finest craft breweries including award-winning beer from local favorites including Blue Point Brewing Co., Southampton Ales & Lagers and more from across the country. Beer was paired with BBQ prepared by Maple Tree BBQ.

Food, provided by Maple Tree BBQ, included sweet potato fries, pastrami, herb-roasted potatoes, ribs, brisket and pineapple all barbequed. Fresh brewed iced tea was also available. Chef Kevin Judge also had an entire pig on a pit which he took out and displayed. As a crowd began to gather he began to disassemble the animal for meat.

Along with drinking and eating, attendees listened to Energy Express Band play live with songs, new and old, including Train's "Hey Soul Sister" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." Small programs were given throughout the day including "Pairing Beer and Wine with Food," which discussed the recent surge in beer and wine dinners and pairings. This program featured Juan Eduardo Micieli-Martinez, Head Winemaker of Martha Clara Vineyards and Spencer Niebhur of Southampton Publick House as they spoke about drinks comparing or contrasting the menu items and progressing from lighter to heavy beverage choices though the meal.

The event helped to raise funds for the Peconic Bay Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital providing quality healthcare for Long Island and the Terry Farrell Fire Fighters Fund.
