HOT SPOT of the MONTH
If you"re a fan of Royal Pains on USA you might have caught a glimpse of this new Sag Harbor hot spot Blue Sky Mediterranean Lounge on last week"s episode. Opened in May at the former site of Spinnakers, this light and airy restaurant features reasonably priced Mediterranean cuisine from Executive Chef and Managing Partner Giuseppe "Beppe" Desiderio. The eatery recently garnered a "very good" (two stars) rating from Peter Gianotti of Newsday who applauded Desiderio"s newest endeavor and said "His breezy, Mediterranean-inspired menu and easygoing approach suit the season and the mood."

I know it"s truly summer when it"s Chefs & Champagne time. Each year the James Beard Foundation holds a summer fundraiser by that name at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack in mid-to-late July.
