Out of Town: Bob’s Clam Hut

It’s 6:55 on Tuesday, december 16th and I’m miles from home, alone in an empty restaurant, and I’ve just 4 hours at my 90 year old Mother’s side in the hospital. Bing Crosby is crooning, “Silent Night” and I should be depressed, right? 

NO WAY - cuz I just rewarded myself with the best fried clamroll on earth at Bob’s Clam Hut on Rte 1 in Kittery, ME.

 

These are Ipswich clams - fresh; the real deal! The batter is light, the fries are crispy enough and the bun is LIGHTLY buttered n toasted. It may as well be JULY 16th with the Yankee - Red Sox game about to start. I’ve just experienced heaven. Ahhhhh.
