Where to Feast This Thanksgiving

Keep calm and gobble on!

November marks the start of the holiday season and it's a time to give, show thanks, and be grateful for what we have. It also means that the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is almost here - to be followed by the biggest feast of the year. Whether you prefer a traditional plate of turkey and ‘tatos or are in the mood to switch things up, here are our five picks for where to go for Thanksgiving dinner. Choose wisely and gobble ‘til you wobble!

aMano Restaurant - Mattituck

The Italian inspired favorite showcases both old and new world flavors. In celebration of turkey day, the restaurant is serving a prix fixe menu including holiday classics alongside Italian fare. Start with maple pumpkin bisque or crispy cranberry brie, dig in to roasted free-range turkey brown sugar-baked ham, both served with potato mash, sausage and cornbread stuff, sweet potatoes, roasted fall vegetables and cranberry sauce, and finish off with a piece of warm apple crumb or pumpkin bread pudding. You won’t be disappointed.

George Martin The Original - Rockville Centre

Seatings begin at 2 p.m. at this RVC staple! Enjoy three-courses at $52 pp, plus tax and gratuity. Menu items include roasted PA free-range turkey, mustard and pretzel-crusted organic salmon, cabernet braised boneless beef short ribs, and filet mignon. Over-stuff yourself with a traditional piece of pumpkin pie or not-so-traditional GM brownie sundae. Gotta finish with something sweet!

Jonathan's Ristorante - Huntington

Enjoy a variety of holiday-themed specials alongside the regular a la carte menu here in Huntington. Consider butternut squash with balsamic Cipollini, roasted turkey with sausage and mushroom stuffing, French string beans, regular and sweet potato puree, root vegetables and cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Feeling Italian? Consider one of their signature dishes such as the bucatini with Nonna Alba’s Bolognese sauce or the risotto con funghi with aborio rice, mixed mushrooms, black truffle butter and parmigiano. Mangiare!

Lulu - Sag Harbor

Family-style Thanksgiving specials are few and far between. Take advantage of traditional turkey and accompaniments at this Sag Harbor favorite, or take a look at the a la carte menu. Options include gigli pasta with cockles, whole-grilled branzino, grilled buttermilk chicken and skirt steak. Just be sure to make your reservations in advance!

Sandbar - Cold Spring Harbor

Executive Chef Guy Reuge has prepared a selection of a la carte holiday specials in celebration of this Thanksgiving. Enjoy a taste of tradition with a team that holds tradition and family close to heart. Consider butternut squash soup with pumpkin seeds, shaved Brussels sprouts with red onion, apple, Parmesan, lemon and walnuts, Berkshire pork chop with roasted potato and apples, baby spinach and apple cider jus, and a traditional plate of roasted turkey with stuffing, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cornbread and gravy.
