Summer’s meant for celebrating, and no one knows that better than The Backyard at Solé East in Montauk. That’s why they’re kicking off summer with a multi-week series featuring brunches, bbqs, bands and more.

Treat yourself to a delicious meal featuring fresh, local and sustainable seasonal cuisine with a Mediterranean influence at the restaurant, enjoy a drink by the poolside, then check out these awesome events!

Friday, July 27th
Sweetbitter Dinner and TV Series Screening with Stephanie Danler
7 – 11 pm

Kick off the weekend with New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Danler! The evening will feature a special summer tomato prefix dinner with the acclaimed author herself, an outdoor TV screening of the new STARZ series Sweetbitter, and a complimentary copy of the novel that started it all! The feast, curated by Stephanie, comes complete with wine and beer pairings for the perfect evening. A menu, subject to change, includes:

Tomato tart

Composed summer salad with aioli

Roasted eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes stuffed with breadcrumbs

Surf & turf with anchovy butter

Tisane of lemon verbena (hot or iced)

Michael Symon’s Playing With Fire BBQ Feat. Grindstone Donuts

Things are heating up at Solé East with this brunch cookout barbecue! Join celebrated Iron Chef and restaurateur Michael Symon at this BBQ for delicious bites and recipes from his newest cookbook, Playing with Fire. Don’t forget about the wine and beer pairings, plus freshly made donuts provided by Sag Harbor’s Grindstone donuts, owned by Michael’s son Kyle Shanahan. ‘Donut’ mind if we do! A menu, subject to change, includes:

Spicy grilled shrimp toast with avocado

Mabel’s pork ribs

Mabel’s brisket

Grilled skirt steak tacos with pickled red onions

Beer can chicken

Grilled corn and tomato salad

Treat yourself to discussion with the author while enjoying a prefix menu featuring dishes from her acclaimed cookbook, Dining In: Highly Cookable Recipes. The afternoon will also feature beer and wine pairings, plus complimentary copies of her cookbook. A menu, subject to change, includes:

Baked Eggs with Crushed Chickpeas, Chorizo, and Bread Crumbs

Sour Cream Flatbread

Smashed Cucumbers and Scallions over Garlicky Yogurt (with Decidedly Not Sweet Granola)

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a day off and treat yourself to some exquisite cuisine! Visit Solé East and let Rome-based food and beverage expert Katie Parla guide you through a multi-course dinner featuring recipes from her cookbook, Tasting Rome: Fresh Flavors and Forgotten Recipes from an Ancient City. From the aperitivo to the dolce, you’re in for an exotic treat! If that’s not enough, guests will also receive a free copy of the cookbook to peruse while enjoying beer and wine pairings. .
