South Edison Opens for the Season
South Edison reopens for the season on Thursday, May 10.
Executive Chef Todd Mitgang and Sous Chef Roy Wohlars, return for their third season with their seafood centric menu with inventive flavors featuring several new items and an expanded bar menu.
Live Music from Los Cintron of the Gipsy Kings Memorial Day Weekend
In honor of the kick off of summer, South Edison announces the return of Los Cintron brothers on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th starting at 10:30 p.m. Los Cintron, comprised of brothers Rafael and Cristobal Cintron, presents a mix of flamenco, latin and world music, often playing music of the renowned Gipsy Kings. They have performed at venues around the globe including New York's Lincoln Center with the Metropolitan Opera and Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center. As well South Edison will kick off the summer season with their Happy Hour from 2 - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Happy Hour will feature $2 Blue Point drafts and $1 Blue Point oysters from the raw bar. New this season, an expanded Happy Hour menu will be introduced with items such as: lobster buns, lobster salad sliders on house made buns; Farmer's Market pickled veggies, an assortment of local pickled vegetables; and house made veggie chips such as beet chips, sunchokes and carrot served with house made aioli and Amagansett Sea Salt. As well look for new cocktail concoctions such as the Pickled Martini Happy Hour will continue on weekends through June and then be offered seven days come July.

A mere two blocks from the ocean, South Edison offers a menu changing almost daily to highlight the fresh local seafood, most of it sourced from the fishing docks only a mile away. Starters, aside from the full raw bar, include: Olive Oil Braised Baby Octopus Tacos with hen of the woods mushroom, pickled red onion, roasted tomato and guajillo chili salsa, crema, queso cotija; Day Boat Fluke Sashimi with glazed baby turnip, crispy shallot, chili jam, fresh Serrano and micro cilantro; Spicy Tuna BLT Chalupa with house smoked bacon, heirloom tomato, serrano chili, fresh crema and corn tortilla; and new this season Spring Panzanella Salad with housemade bread, asparagus, shallot, basil and Amber Wave Farms poached egg; and Fried Belly Clams with stone-ground corn crust and meyer lemon aioli. Entrees you’ll find on the menu include: Lemongrass Porgy a la Plancha with maitake mushrooms, corn puree, jalapeno sauce, purple peppers, Good water Farms sorrel; Lobster Roll with fresh warm butter, black garlic mayonnaise, house-baked roll and crab seasoned fries; and new items this season such as Crispy Buttermilk-Braised Chicken Leg, free range chicken, napa cabbage, gochujang, waffle and local honey butter; Rock Shrimp Linguini with housemade pasta, house-cured pancetta, parmigiano-reggiano broth and cured egg yolk; and Black & Blue Local Diver Scallops with grilled Treviso radicchio, pickled lime quinoa, spring peas and parsley oil. As well look for a new dessert menu with the addition of new pastry chef Frank Fushetto. Sweet treats will include Campfire Pie - a layered s'more with smoked graham crackers served layered in a mason jar and Bomboloni, a homemade Italian doughnut.
South Edison will be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday through May and into June.
