The Patio At Freeport Inn & Marina Introduces New Features For 2012

The Patio, the signature upscale, yet casual retro-style waterfront restaurant at Freeport Inn & Marina opens after winter vacation on Thursday, April 12.

The PatioThe restaurant will begin the season serving dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. Friday through Saturday.

Owner Joe Creamer, who takes pride in the inn's unique 1960's architecture and has vowed to preserve the integrity of the original design, has made enhancements for 2012. Across the property, a new private party area offers an ideal setting for intimate, waterfront cocktail parties. With hotel accommodations available in one of Freeport Inn's renovated rooms, The Patio is truly a welcoming destination for dinner and party guests alike.

A newly installed, hand-built wood-fired oven pizza joins the crackling fire pits, serene koi pond and waterfall on the outdoor patio. The artisan oven will churn out eight-inch personal pies made with wild authentic yeast imported from the volcanic island of Ischia off the coast of Naples. Each pie is made to order and cooked beside The Patio's mixed blend of hard fruitwoods. The pizzas, priced from $14 to $18, are offered through the late hours with selections including classic Neopolitan, Berkshire Sopressata, hot honey chicken, exotic mushroom and white clam.

The contemporary American fare menu also boasts new selections as well as signature dishes including:

*Citrus Oyster Shooters with oysters marinated ceviche-style in horseradish and key lime with grapefruit granite $15

*Roasted Lobster Bisque $12

*The Wedge with organic iceberg, candied macadamia nuts, crispy house smoked bacon, tomato and Gorgonzola dressing

*Louisiana Style BBQ Ribs, half rack, dry rubbed, hardwood smoked, painted with hot honey $29

*Linguini and White Clam Sauce made with 100% local Little Neck clams $24

*Citrus Soy Tuna marinated in Asian citrus and white soy, house pickled ginger and wasabi soy $32

*Lime and Coconut Chillean Sea Bass marinated in coconut and lime sprinkled with macadamia nuts, served with purple Peruvian potato salad $37

*Argentinian Style Skirt Steak, marinated and served over saffron wild rice with chimichurri sauce $29

*S'mores Cheesecake $10

The restaurant, patio and lounge will also introduce new promotions this year. Tuesdays feature "Classic Movie Night" (starting May 1) showing popular films from "Willy Wonka" to "Superman" on the outdoor TV screen with fresh popcorn at the bar and a prix fixe. "Scotch and Cigars Under the Stars" on Wednesday Nights with a special menu and cigar handroller. On Thursdays, the band Mystic will perform live. Home to Freeport's only trendy hotel party on the water, DJs take over the sprawling outdoor space each week for the "Friday Night Dance Party" from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. The weekend ends on a high note with Latin Night every Sunday.
