Calypso St. Barth will host a pop-up shop featuring beachwear and accessories from their distinctive line of resort wear. 1950's-Style Swimsuit Contest
Dust off those old suits: Navy Beach will host a 1950's-style swimsuit contest for the French Riviera party! As swimsuits of the 1950s were part of the inspiration for style and decor at Navy Beach, guests are now invited to bring out their own styles! In the 1940s when the country was at war, fabric was rationed in women's swimsuits, leading to the creation of the bikini. One of the infamous bikini bearing figures of the era was Bridget Bardot who flaunted the new style on the French Riviera and in the famed flick "And God Created Women." Like Bardot, guests are encouraged to come in their 1950s style swimsuits. The winner will be judged by local photographer James Katsipis, well known for his little blue chair portrait series and dramatic landscapes of Montauk. The winner will receive a gift certificate good for dinner for two at Navy Beach featuring a chef's tasting menu and a bottle of champagne.
The lunch and dinner menus will be offered during the party. Reservations for tables can be made through
Open Table, online at www.navybeach.com or by calling 631-668-6868. Select waterfront daybeds on the beach will be available for reservation during the party for a $300 minimum for the time slots of 12 to 4 p.m. or 4 to 8 p.m.
