Valentine's Day Events at The Garden City Hotel
Garden City Hotel will offer three unique dining experiences for Valentine's Day.
Master Chef Steven De Bruyn has crafted an exquisite three-course prix fixe dinner, complete with with a strolling violinist, box of house-made truffles, bottle of Paul Goerg Champagne and pair of champagne flutes keepsake. Menu is available on Saturday, February 11 and Tuesday, February 14. Cost is $110 per person, plus tax. Reservations are required. Menu includes:
Poached in a hot and spicy broth, Hawaiian hearts of palms, rocket salad and avocado with an exotic fruit salsa
With baby spinach and shiitake mushrooms and velvety lobster coulis finished with Dry Sack Sherry and extra virgin emulsion
Salad of Chicories and Roasted Beets
Gratineed Vermont goat cheese and warm bacon vinaigrette
Creamy Cauliflower Veloute
With zesty bay scallops, a delicate fresh herb flan and caviar
A petit filet mignon paired with a braised boneless short rib, skewered root vegetables and celeriac cream
Grilled Wild King Salmon
Nestled on a bed of asparagus tips, crisp fried quail eggs, smack-down potatoes and a Maltaise sauce on the side
Free-Range Chicken and Shrimp Fricassee
Wild mushrooms, pearl onions, fingerlings and French tarragon
Spice-Rubbed Tender Long Island Duck Breast Organic Tuscan black kale, Brussels sprouts, apple, chestnuts and local cider reduction
Passion fruit raspberry macaroon, affogato panna cotta, chocolate cremeux and hazelnut gelato
Chef De Bruyn also presents a Valentine's Day themed Afternoon Tea on Saturday, February 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. for $34 per person, plus tax. The gourmet tea selections will delight your palette with infused flavors from around the world. Reservations are required. Tea features an assortment of sandwiches and other treats including:
Cucumber mint on whole wheat bread, roast beef on rye bread with horseradish may and watercress
Egg salad on white bread with chives
Fresh scones with Devonshire cream and house-made seasonal preserves
Assorted tea breads
Indulge in a dazzling array of sumptuous culinary offerings, with many specially-crafted for Valentine's Day at the Garden City Hotel award-winning Sunday Brunch on Sunday, February 12 with seatings beginning at noon. Cost is $69 per adult and half price for children under 12. Reservations are required. Chef pairs seasonally-inspired cuisine with wine selections and brunch-cocktail favorites including Bloody Mary's, Screwdrivers and Mimosas to enhance your palate. Specially featured is a dedicated carving station featuring roast prime rib on the bone. Prepared to order selections include gourmet pastas and sauces plus breakfast favorites such as made-to-order omelets, Belgian waffles and French toast. Our "most talked about" seafood extravaganza showcases a seafood lover's dream of whole lobster, crab claws and jumbo shrimp and an artful display of smoked salmon and whitefish. The extraordinary culinary presentation extends to sophisticated dessert displays with seasonally inspired cakes, pies, pastries and sweets as well as assorted whole fruit and fruit salads.
