Long Island Burgers

Whether you dine in or take it to go, a burger does the trick no matter where you are. These Long Island restaurants offer the best of the best to fulfill your burger cravings.

NASSAU

Krisch's Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor "The Meeting and Eating Spot of Massapequa," offers diners a 1950s retro atmosphere with New American cuisine. While known for their homemade ice creams, Krisch’s has an extensive burger menu. Our favorite is the "Rumble Burger" with bacon, ham, cheese and sautéed onions. For a little extra, try it on the housemade pretzel bread. This place definitely offers a more exciting take on a classic diner burger.

11 Central Avenue, Massapequa, NY 11758 (516) 797-3149

The Patio
Not all burgers have to be one-pounders to feel like you have gotten your fair share. The Patio in Freeport dishes up South Main Street Sliders that just hit the spot. A trio of mouthwatering burgers with American cheese and Chimichurri sauce is enough to share, if you are feeling extra generous that is.

445 South Main Street, Freeport, NY 11520 (516) 623-2980

The Brass Rail
Sirloin burger au poivre. If the name alone doesn't get you, then what will? Locust Valley's Brass Rail offers a selection of burgers that will keep you coming back for more. This burger in particular is topped with caramelized onions, mushrooms and Swiss served with a peppercorn dipping sauce. Paired with shoestring fries and slaw, this burger is one you must try.

107 Forest Avenue, Locust Valley, NY 11560 (516) 723-9103

WESTERN SUFFOLK

The Library Café
Visit the Library Café in Farmingdale to enjoy a meal in a casual American bar and restaurant. Enjoy one of their famous burgers made with your choice of certified angus beef, chicken breast or ground turkey. Options are: the Melton fries and mushroom gravy; the Bistro with rocket arugula, blue cheese and apple wood bacon; the Chipotle BBQ with Monterey jack, cheddar and crispy onions; or the Patty Melt with grilled rye, sautéed onions and Swiss cheese. If a good ol' regular burger is more your style, you can add whichever toppings you like.

274 Main Street, Famringdale, NY 11735 (631) 752-7678

Mirabelle Tavern
Out and about in Stony Brook? Stop by Mirabelle Tavern and try a Tavern Burger for lunch. Enjoy 8 ounces of sirloin with Cheddar bacon-onion marmalade and French fries. We suggest this along with Lessings Local Ale on tap. Ready, set, lunch.

150 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY 11790 (631) 751-0555

Brownstone Brewing Company
What better place to enjoy a burger than at a brewery? The Brownstone Brewing Company in Ronkonoma offers an array of burgers sure to please even the pickiest of carnivores (if there is such a thing). A favorite is the pepper crusted burger with wasabi mayo and tomato-onion bruscetta. Add a spiked shake to top it off.

200 Portion Road, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 (631) 588-1135

EAST END

Rowdy Hall
A local eatery tucked away on Main Street in East Hampton may be out of sight, but is most definitely not out of mind. Rowdy Hall blends the tradition and feeling of an English pub and a French Bistro. One of their signature dishes is the coveted Rowdy Burger. The popular burger is made with certified and all natural black angus beef with a choice of American, Swiss, cheddar or blue cheese with the usual toppings and served with hand-cut fries. Just add an ice cold beer on tap and you are set.

10 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937 (631) 324-8555

Townline BBQ
Take a load off those cowboy boots and stroll into Townline BBQ in Sagaponack for easy (yet delicious) eats. The TL Burger in particular may at first seem simple, but will pleasantly surprise your taste buds. Served on a plastic lunch tray, the burger packs mouth-watering flavor that may just have you ordering a second. Topped with chipotle mayo and the regular fixings, enjoy this burger with a beer and friends any night of the week.

3593 Townline Road, Sagaponack, NY 11962 (631) 537-2271

Luce and Hawkins
The Burger at Luce and Hawkins in Jamesport tends to change, but the taste and quality remain the same. One of our favorites is the burger with bacon and onion jam, foie gras mayo, fries and truffle fonduta. With such a complex blend of ingredients and flavors, this is not your average burger. Enjoy this burger downstairs in the dimly lit speakeasy for the full experience of cool, different and hip.

400 South Jamesport Avenue, Jamesport, NY 11947 (631) 722-2900
