Food Awards Introduced at Third Annual Long Island Hospitality ball

This year's Long Island Hospitality Ball will feature a new food awards segment in which restaurants and food vendors will be judged in a variety of categories.

Judges will visit the various participants noting presentation, execution, taste and quality of the dishes put forward. Judging will be done prior to the evening's festivities, allowing guests can acknowledge those awarded. The panel of judges is made up of select Long Island chefs and food editors including Hell's Kitchen contestant and Long Island native Chef Barrett Beyer, Brian Haweil and Stephen Munshin of Edible Long Island, Morris Sendor of Great Restaurants of Long Island, Venus Quintana of 25A Magazine, Chef Mike Maroni of Maroni's in Northport, Chef Joseph Lester of The FarmHouse Kitchen in Rockville Centre, and Jim Savali of Village Connection.

The 2013 Long Island Hospitality Ball, benefiting the American Cancer Society , will be held on Monday, June 3 at the Crest Hollow Country Club . The event will showcase offerings from the region's top restaurants and food vendors from New Hyde Park to the Hamptons each serving signature dishes to guests.
