Billy Joel at Prime

Billy Joel was one of the first to dock and dine on Memorial Day at Huntington Harbor's Prime Restaurant. Arriving to the dock in his Downeaster, Alexa, a 36-foot fishing boat and the title of his 1989 song, he was joined by the vessel's namesake, daughter Alexa Ray Joel, plus friends including pet pug, Sabrina. In the spirit of the boat's heritage, a lobster/swordfish hybrid boat built on a Maine lobster boat hull, the party ate mostly seafood led by Captain Billy's order of a dragon roll -- king crab with sliced avocado and barbecued eel -- and a spicy tuna roll. While the party was shaded by hats and porch with a view, pug Sabrina, kept her own low profile sitting quietly under the table.

From disco divas to vampire vixens, celebrities have started the summer off at the Montauk Yacht Club this Memorial Day. Thelma Houston, best known for her 1977 number one hit "Don't Leave Me This Way," in town for an appearance elswhere, enjoyed another visit to the resort. In addition, Sara Canning, the actress who plays Jenna Sommers on the CW's popular "Vampire Diaries" also enjoyed some down time at Montauk Yacht Club, with a stop in MYC Salon. The vibe at Montauk Yacht Club this Memorial Day was characterized by megayachts docking to the rhythms of the steel drum band at the club's newly opened Hurricane Alley. Parents, kids, friends and families joined Long Island residents and Montauk visitors for rum cocktails and dancing. Every age group took part in the MYC vibe - an awesome mix of surfside glam and island relaxation.

Wednesday night Steven Spielberg dined with his wife and kids at the table next to Barry Sonnenfeld and his wife and daughter. On Saturday morning Nick & Toni's hosted a brunch for the 2009 breakthrough performers which included: Emmy Rossum (Dare, Phantom of the Opera), Zach Gilford (Dare, Friday Night Lights), Emma Stone (Paper Man, Superbad) and Rooney Mara (Tanner Hall, The Winning Season). The rising stars sat at a table with their mentor Sharon Stone and noshed on salmon, mini fritattas, arugula salad, pizzas from the woodburning oven and homemade muffins. Alec Baldwin also stopped by the table to greet the rising stars.

Williams, her manager and her sister Isha joined Porto Vivo owners Joy Mangano and Philipp Seipelt and Seipelt's fiancee Christie Mangano. They dined in the upper level dining room where Williams enjoyed steamed littleneck clams and grilled branzino. Serena skipped vintages from the wine cellar instead opting for water gearing up for play at the upcoming US Open next week.

One of the founders of Hip Hop DJ Grandmaster Flash was spotted dining at HONU Kitchen & Cocktails in Huntington last week with a young, attractive, female. They dined near the fireplace and enjoyed some of the signature small plates such as Gnocchi with Wild Mushrooms, Halibut with Sundried Tomato and Orange, Filet Mignon with Potatoes au Gratin and Seared Tuna with Wasabi Aioli. They drank their famous Coconut Martini's.

Who wasn't at Nick & Toni's this weekend?

Tuesday night Alec Baldwin dined solo while browsing some magazines. Later in the evening Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell with her sister started with drinks at the bar — McCartney and Shevell shared a margarita and then sat down for dinner. McCartney dined on all vegetarian dishes including vegetables and pasta.
On Wednesday night Sarah Jessica Parker sat outside with friends.
On Friday Sex in the City writer Darren Star celebrated his birthday with two friends.
Saturday night Howard Stern with Beth O came in for a quick meal outside dining on salads and fish. Later in the evening Wolfgang Puck was in, after being honored at the James Beard Foundations Chefs & Champagne event, with 5 people and snacked on cured meats, fresh ricotta and tuscan toast paired with red wine.
Ethan Hawke, Ryan Shawhughes and just born baby Clementime popped in for an early dinner on Sunday night. They noshed on salads and Hawke had a red wine. They ate quickly worrisome having their newborn out so early in her life.
